Description:
Oleanolic acid or oleanolic acid is a naturally occurring pentacyclic triterpenoid with the formula of C30H48O3. It was found in the non-glyceride fraction of olive pomace oil and is widely distributed in food and plants where it exists as a free acid or as an aglycone precursor for triterpenoid saponins, in which it can be linked to one or more sugar chains. It is biosynthesized from lupane. It can rearrange to the isomer, ursolic acid, or be oxidized to taraxasterol and amyrin. Oleanolic acid and its derivatives possess several promising pharmacological activities, such as hepatoprotective effects, and anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, or anticancer activities.
Function:
1. Oleanolic acid has anti-inflammatory, sedative, cardiac, diuretic, hypolipidemic, hypoglycemic, and protective effects on liver and enzymes, enhancing immunity and inhibiting the growth of S180 tumor strain. It is an effective ingredient for the development and treatment of liver diseases and hypoglycemia. 2. Oleanolic acid has a protective effect on chromosome damage and a preventive effect on experimental atherosclerosis. Clinical use in the treatment of infectious acute jaundice hepatitis, chronic viral hepatitis, has a significant effect on reducing alanine aminotransferase and reducing jaundice. 3. Oleanolic acid can inhibit the proliferation of hepatic fibrosis. In rats with hepatic fibrosis treated with oleanolic acid, the proliferation of hepatic fibrosis is serious and significantly reduced, and the content of collagen in the liver is reduced, suggesting that oleanolic acid can prevent and treat liver cirrhosis. 4. Reducing the level of brain homogenate tyrosine in cirrhotic rats: As the level of brain homogenate tyrosine decreased significantly, it could inhibit the production of pseudoneurotransmitters, so it was beneficial to the prevention and treatment of hepatic encephalopathy. 5.
